Cemetery Chapel Consultation Results

The Parish Council Consultation relating to the future of the Chapel ended on the 30th of April and the results have been collated and all comments will be reviewed shortly. There were 339 responses of which 159 chose to maintain the building for its current use, 170 to improve and open up for carefully considered extra use and 10 chose to demolish.

What is clear, is that everyone who responded thought that the building was an important part of village life and shouldn’t be lost, whatever the cost. The really fantastic news is that a number of residents offered to donate funds towards the cost of the repairs needed, and one particularly generous resident made a substantial donation which will help secure the building for the future. We are now investigating a proper plan with an architect and will hopefully be able to share the results with you in the coming months.
